I'm finally ready to bite the bullet and write this post. It's going to be picture-heavy, so prepare yourselves.
My blogging bestie Jennie and my Nestie Bestie and fellow Georgia girl Andrea at David Levithan's reading. You guys, the heat. It was un.bear.able. I mean Georgia in August, you can imagine, but yikes. It felt worse this year.
Since we were all about to die from heatstroke, we went to lunch at Ted's. Natalie, Heather, and Crystal - I expect every one of these girls to be doing their own reading at DBF any year now and I'll be in the crowd saying "I KNOW HER!"
Andrea and her sweet husband, who came along for the ride and was a great sport about putting up with us and taking our pictures.
Jennie, Ashley, Liz, and Rachel. Nestie besties and local besties - perfection!
Group shot of my Nestie Besties: Jennie, Andrea, Natalie, Crystal, Ashley, and Heather.
Crystal and Jennie at what is, I think, the Maureen Johnson signing.
Jennie is wearing a different shirt in this one, so I can only guess that it's a different day. Must be at the David Levithan signing. It was so ridiculously hot and the Teen Stage was outside this year, so we basically were unable to bear it for more than two signings.
More hot. But also, I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!
Jennie and Erin Morgenstern who, blessedly, had an indoor signing.
And now for the goods. I spent way, way too much money, as always.
Earl & Mooch signed anthology.
Bear Snores On, signed by Karma Wilson, to be sent to my Georgie.
Signed copy of The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson
You can't see the signatures, but signed copies of Unwind and Unwholly by Neal Schusterman
Another signature from Maureen Johnson in my Zombies vs. Unicorns anthology
Bound South by Susan Rebecca White (also blessedly air conditioned reading)
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern - the highlight for me.
Shine Shine Shine by Lydia Netzer
AND, the sweetest, most thoughtful gift ever from Andrea: coasters with my favorite Southern sayings on them!
