I'm also not a huge fan of paranormal YA, although there are some good ones. If you're looking for non-paranormal though, you're probably going to typically find "contemporary YA", which is set now or in the recent past. Some that I have loved are Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, Dancergirl by Carol Tanzman, and anything by Ellen Hopkins. Also, if you search for "Contemporary YA" on Goodreads or Amazon, you'll come up with lots of lists that are more extensive.
What are some good youth fictions that don't deal heavily with the paranormal. I Don't like it.

DeleteYou should read The Underground Church: Reclaiming the Subversive Way of Jesus.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendation! I've added it to my to-read list on Goodreads - it looks really interesting!
