What I Read in August

Honestly, Reader Friends, August defies explanation for me.  I couldn't really tell you anything in particular that happened this month or what kept me from reading more - it was just a blah month all around.  This is pretty cute though.  Every few months Sly will pick a new spot that becomes his spot - he will spend 20 hours a day in that spot and we can't convince him to move until he's through with it.  This is his new spot:

Looks just like the bookcase right?  Except every day we started to come home to find this:

It took us a day or two to of putting the books on the shelf every time we came home to figure out that Sly has started pulling books off the shelf so that he can crawl into the spot behind the other books to sleep while I'm at work.  How cute is that?  I'm telling myself it's because he wants to be close to his mommy while she's gone.

Anyway here's what I read in August:

Lost Daughters: Recovered Memory Therapy and the People It Hurts
Some We Love, Some We Hate, Some We Eat
You Don't Sweat Much For A Fat Girl
Starting From Happy
The Good Daughters
The Little Friend

In news of my family, the month of August was pretty slow for us.  My major brag is that Chief finally passed his Canine Good Citizen test.  We bribed him and practiced and didn't let him sit on mommy's lap at all that night and he did it!  Next step is his Therapy Dog International certification, although the CGC certification is enough to get him started in therapy.

  1. I love that Sly has been pulling the books out. He sure is living up to his name! I will be interested to see what you thought of Rattled. I read that one a few years back but I think at this point in my life I would have a different reaction.

  2. I want to read You Don't Sweat Much For A Fat Girl. Sounds like the books you read were pretty good!
